No to AUKUS

In a hurry? This just takes 1 minute:

Concerns about AUKUS

The Four Corners programme Trading Fire (screened in early November 2025) highlighted the threat facing Australia, especially here in the north.

Australia has unwisely signed two agreements that make us a military appendage of the USA - and a target in any conflict between the US and China:

  • AUKUS, first signed in 2021 and superseded in 2024 by AUKUS 2.0
  • the Force Posture Agreement (FPA)  signed in 2014.

These include the hosting of foreign war planes and submarines.

The planes and submarines may even carry nuclear weapons, as the Australian government has the policy of not requiring the US to disclose this.

No to Nuclear Weapons

Before the election, Labor promised to sign and ratify an international treaty to ban nuclear weapons - the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) - which they have yet to do.

  1. Nuclear submarines using Australian ports.
  2. Nuclear submarine waste being stored on Australian territory.
  3. Nuclear capable bombers operating from Australia.
  4. Use of Australian territory as a base for US war operations.
  5. Australia becoming a military target, with the north being one of the frontlines in any conflict in the region.
