Make a Submission on KUR-World EIS

Help stop KUR-World satellite suburb and the damage it would cause to the ecologically fragile Myola valley near Kuranda in Far North Queensland.

The submission period is short and ends Monday 14 January at 5pm: Send your submission NOW. Fill in form opposite (or below on your mobile) and add your own comments to the letter.

This large development of thousands of people is planned right in the middle of an important ecological corridor. There are endangered species such as the Southern Cassowary and the endangered and endemic Kuranda tree frog and Myola palm.

The development of 171 hectares here would impact negatively on nearby Wet Tropics World Heritage values-  this area is part of an important buffer zone in the narrowest part of the Wet Tropics linking the south to the north.

And the influx of thousands of visitors would stress already inadequate infrastructure including roads such as the Kuranda Range road linking Kuranda and the Tablelands to Cairns and water quality and quantity.

The government needs to refuse this application as it is too big and in the wrong place.
